Computer vision syndrome and your eyes
Eyes feeling irritated? It could be all that time you spend staring at your screen.
How does digital eyestrain happen?
Normally we blink 18 times a minute. We blink half as much while using digital devices.
That’s why one of the more common causes of eyestrain is extended periods of computer reading or writing.
Here’s what you should do:
Sit at least 25 inches away from the computer screen.
Use proper lighting to reduce glare.
Follow the 20-20-20 Rule. Every 20 minutes, look at an object 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Keep OPTI-FREE® Rewetting Drops on hand to refresh your eyes when they feel dry.
Take regular breaks from computer work.
Get enough sleep so your eyes are well rested.
